Don't forget that April is our fundraising month, and we are selling tickets to this beautiful quilt which was made by Miriam Thompson. Tickets can be purchased from any of the FOPE directors or at the Co-op on April 6th and 7th or at the open house on April 22nd at Estuary house.
This year there will be three exciting components to the open house.
11:00 - Check out The Peace Trail. See the river change into spring with a guided hike of the 4. 67 km. (see http://www.pugwashestuary.com/trails/). This hike will be timed to bring you back to the estuary house for the open house.
12:30 - Calling all kids - ever heard of Storm the Mountain? Well this will be the FOPE's kid's version. Using maps you will search the estuary trail for controls - and your lunch!!!
2:00 - Have a hot dog and see the work we have finished on the Estuary House this year at our open house. It just keeps getting better.
The Spring Migratory Bird Count. This is timed to coincide with the Nature Conservancy of Canada Chebucto count and the ebird/BirdStudies Canada migratory bird counts. Meet at Estuary House at 9:00 and Betty will give you your assignment. Please note that the date is May 12th and NOT May 19th as reported in "It Takes a Village."
